EXPECTING? LET’S CONNECT!

A doula provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support throughout labor and birth. Unlike nurses and providers who may care for multiple patients during a shift, a doula offers dedicated one-on-one support from the onset of labor through the immediate postpartum period.

Research has shown that the presence of a doula can lead to improved birth outcomes, including lower rates of cesarean birth, reduced use of labor interventions, shorter labors, and increased satisfaction with the birth experience. Doulas help families understand their options, communicate effectively with their healthcare team, and make informed decisions that align with their birth preferences.

A doula also provides comfort measures such as positioning, movement, breathing techniques, massage, and relaxation strategies to promote progress in labor and enhance overall comfort. Support is tailored to each family's unique needs, whether planning an unmedicated birth, epidural, induction, cesarean birth, or VBAC.

Birth is a significant life event, and continuous support has been shown to improve both emotional well-being and confidence during the childbirth experience. A doula's role is to help create a positive, supported, and informed birth journey for the entire family.
